Making it my Own

I love to find ways to save a buck or two and I came across this idea to make your own baby wipes. At first I didn't think I could do it, not because I wasn't capable, but because no paper towel will hold up and do the job. But in an adventurous spirit I tried it. And to my complete surprise, it WORKED. I am in love with my baby wipes!! I cant even tell you how much money I have saved in using these little handmade wipies. I will share with you my simple recipe, for a fee of course...just kidding. It always seems everyone is out to make a buck as well. Its so simple.

All you have to do is buy a paper towel that will hold up to being wet and not falling apart. For me Viva worked the best. I then pull them apart and stack them all together until I have as many as I want. Then I cut them in half. In an empty baby wipes container I put about 2 cups of water, 1T. baby oil, and 1T. baby shampoo and whisk it together. Then I set the towels into it and let them soak through. Sometimes they are so wet that I add more towels to them or I drain out the extra liquid. So easy and so cheap!

Words of caution...don't make an over abundance at one time if you don't use that many in one day. They will sour if they sit unused to long. So make just what you will need for a couple of days, then make more when you run low. Also, I don't like to use them so much in my diaper bag on the go..they do seem to pull apart with a little effort, so its to much of a hassle for when I am out and about. But at home I have nothing stopping me from going the extra mile to save me that much money. So try this and let me know what you think and if you will keep on using them. I am curious to see your responses and reactions. Go ahead, I dare you to try it, you just might fall in love like I did!!
