I often wonder what it would be like to be a bird and fly away from life's trials and pain and hide among the clouds. I would also love to be an angel sitting among the clouds eating chocolate bars and talking all about the wonderful things the Lord did that day.

I have this fascination with the clouds and the sky. My most favorite time to look and study the clouds is when it is about to storm or right after one. I love the look of the colors they exhibit, the whites, blues and greys. I love their fluffiness and their ever changing shape. They just look so inviting and comfortable, like you could just go up there and lay on them.

That would be awesome to be a bird and fly up there and have that view from above the clouds, or in the clouds, instead of below the clouds. Any time I have ever been in a plane, I wanted a window seat so I could study the clouds if we were able to be lucky enough to have some to see.

Clouds to me, are like life's puffy dreams. One minute they are there, the next minute they are shifting into another form, still there, but different. Then the next time you look it may be gone or combined with another local cloud.

Life for me has so many layers of clouds, I have bright white ones, you know the ones that are hard to look at and make you wish you had on your sunglasses. I also have ones that are so heavy that they are almost touching the ground, like fog, so thick to see through and everyone else can see and feel it too. I also have ones that are dark and foreboding, that if I were a bird you wouldn't be able to see me if I were to fly into it.

But with all these clouds in my life, all the dreams and desires that are ever changing and floating around to who knows where, doing who knows what. And with all the joy, happiness, pain and suffering all these clouds come with, I know that beneath each and every one of these clouds, if I look close enough, there is a silver lining waiting to be seen.

So here's to looking up, and looking through the moisture, and viewing those rays of sunshine....because God knows I need it, each and every day!
