Wash Your Face In Honey!!!

Best Face Wash You Will Ever Use!!

Have you ever wondered what you can "WASH" your face in that is all natural??
I have extremely sensitive skin that is acne prone, I have tried just about everything in the world to wash my face....nothing was working!!
I searched store after store, website after website, blog after blog looking for face wash alternatives.
Everything was either to drying, caused my acne to get worse, or...well, caused my acne to get worse!!
I finally stumbled across a blog Crunchy Betty who had the best written post ever about washing your face with honey. That post can be viewed here.
Now I don't want you to go over there and get lost, but I do believe in giving credit were credit is due.
So anyway, I decided to take that challenge for myself, frankly, I had tried everything else so why not this? I really wasn't holding my breathe, I was pretty certain this was just going to break my skin out even worse!!
But I was determined to give it a "go". I am glad that I did!!!
Within the first few days I expected to break out and when I didn't I about fell over with excitement!!
I did get a few dry areas, as was to be expected, but I just dabbed a small amount of coconut oil on the dry areas...
Honey has some major antimicrobial and antibacterial properties in it that are awesome for acne prone skin!!
What you should know about washing your face with honey:
  • You honey needs to be RAW, ORGANIC, preferably local.
  • If you use any national brand honey that is not raw and organic, you have just put liquid sugar on your face. All the antibacterial properties have been almost all but depleted. Plus most store brand honeys have a higher water content which also greatly reduces the antibacterial properties effectiveness.
  • IMPORTANT: Tie your hair back. Honey can be pretty annoying to get out of your hair!!
  • Some sites will tell you to wet your face down before applying the honey, this is alright to do. But I prefer to use as little water as possible to make sure I am not watering down the antimicrobial  properties. {Were an I getting that information from??? Here. In this article it states "Honey has an osmotic effect.[86] Honey is primarily a saturated mixture of two monosaccharides, with a low water activity; most of the water molecules are associated with the sugars and few remain available for microorganisms, so it is a poor environment for their growth. If water is mixed with honey, it loses its low water activity, and therefore no longer possesses this antimicrobial property.[citation needed] }
  • Let the honey sit on your face as long as possibly, then rinse off by splashing water; or you can use a wash cloth gently wiping it off. Splash with cool water when done.
I am going to tell you a little secret to my face wash that I LOVE!!
I have that small jar that I fill to the top with honey, then I add 3 drops of frankincense essential oil.
Frankincense has some awesome wrinkle fighting agents, as well as antibacterial properties. Its been said the Cleopatra used Frankincense, honey and milk to bathe in and she had amazing skin...so the story goes!!
Please do not misunderstand me, I am not vain!!
But I do want clear skin!!
And if I can prevent a few wrinkles in the process, well, why not!!
I have taken the challenge of washing my face in honey one to two times a day!
It's an amazing thing how my face is clearing up.
Now if I could just quit the sugar, my face would be even better!!
What are your thoughts on washing with honey?
Have you tried it and liked it??
