At one time I have tried using homemade shampoo's and even attempted a NO-POO, boy, oh boy!! Those were some terrible times of anxiety for me. Some people have had great success using those methods, I will be honest, I did not!!

I was also very terribly afraid of ruining my hair. As an Apostolic Pentecostal I could not just cut my hair and start over if I did ruin my hair! So in those attempts I quit way before the recommended times. I just could not do it. So now I do use store bought shampoo's, but they are 100% organic, sulfate free.

I wanted to share these recipes, even though I personally have not used them. I would love to know if you have used these or something similar, please share what you have used.

  3. I have yet to try a DIY shampoo, but have always been intrigued. My friend swears by using vinegar as a conditioner. I, however, have very thick, very long hair that can take a day to dry. I can't imagine going around smelling like vinegar for the day.

You hair would not smell like vinegar if you used only 2 tablespoons to 1 cup of water. My hair is past my bottom and I double that recipe, and I never smell bad. It actually smells really good once its dry!!

  4. I have never tried a DIY shampoo either. This is so new to me. I love the idea of making your own dry shampoo. I sweat a ton and this would be great after a workout so that I don't need to get my hair wet to wash it. Thanks.

  6. Thanks for sharing these. I too tried that no-poo thing from pinterest and did not like the results - my hair looked terrible. I know they said it got worse before it got better but I didn't think I could go any longer with it looking like that. I am now using an organic sulfate free shampoo and hair looks much better and less dry.
