The Gates Of Hell Shall NOT Prevail

I know that most parents don't want to admit that they struggle with raising their kids, but I am here to tell you, you are not alone!!!

And honestly, if you aren't struggling, then something is wrong!
The enemy {satan} has it out for our kids. They are the next generation, the next ones who will run our country. The very ones who, if satan can snare them, will be the ones to keep God out of their children's hearts.

If you look around there is a major spiritual battle going on, but the question you need to ask yourself is: "How hard am I fighting this battle??"

I personally got a wake up call while in prayer. I was asking God to change my kid, help me deal with him, be more consistent in my discipline. I would be totally frustrated and ready to just give up, basically I was ready to beat the snot out of my 6 year old, sharp tongued little man!!

But while I was venting to God about my son, God spoke deep within my heart "When was the last time you actually prayed FOR your son, not ABOUT him?? When was the last time you interceded on his behalf??When was the last time you spent some quality time with him to make him feel special, needed and wanted??"

OUCH!!!!

Ok, point taken Lord!!

After the nasty reality check I was prompted to pick up and read a book that has been sitting on my bookshelf for over a year now {no, not my Bible, I read that everyday!!}. The book is all about winning your children back from the enemy, how to pray for them and start becoming victorious in this battle that is taking place. So after the first chapter I decided to take a stand!!

I went straight into his room and started singing worship songs to God. Then I started to pray over his room as I straightened it up for him some.
On his wall we had gotten a poster from our church that has the Ten Commandments on it with some pictures to help illustrate what they mean in children's terms. I laid hands on each command and asked the Lord to instill in him a desire to follow that particular commandment.
I am not about to let the enemy keep my child in his tight grip!

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 says, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for  pulling down strongholds."

Our weapons are the very Word of God!! We need to be praying over our kids, their rooms, anything you can think of WITH the Word of God!!

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" Luke 10:19

I am going to start trampling on the enemy and start winning this battle. My child is a child of the King, he will be mighty in the Kingdom of God!! But I must win his soul over to the Lord!!
It is my job as his parent to lead Him to the Lord, to set an example and to fight a fight he isn't strong enough to fight himself. A battle he isn't even old enough to be aware it's going on!!

I have THE authority!! I am about to start smacking the devil around!!!

Who is with me???
