I know lots of people would shake their fists at me tooting this is a toxic chemical, they may be right.

After reading up on this Wikipedia says, "As a topical agent, and as a beta-hydroxy acid (and unlike alpha-hydroxy acids), salicylic acid is capable of penetrating and breaking down fats and lipids, making it capable of causing moderate chemical burns of the skin if at very high concentrations. It is capable of damaging the lining of pores in such cases if the solvent is alcohol, acetone, or an oil" {source}.

That is pretty scary, but...like with anything in this world, common sense should be exercised. I choose to review this product because I do suffer from acne and wanted to see if this would work. And it did.

It may be toxic in large quantities and dangerous if swallowed, but most essential oils are too!

Salicylic acid is derived from the bark of the willow tree. It was used for generations and generations by Native Americans to reduce fever and control aces and pains.

Now that we know a little about what salicylic acid is, let's move onto my review.

Here is my acne spot before I used this peel.

I know, it looks pretty bad!!

This is the next day after my first treatment.
All the spots around my mouth are now completely gone..
The big one is a little smaller, still red though.

This is my second treatment. It looks a bit better, smaller and not so red.
The pimple down at the bottom is all but gone by this point.

Now that I have bared my bare face to the world and embarrased myself to high heaven and back:

This stuff works, and pretty darn good at that. The bottle tells you to wash your face then apply to a cotton ball and rub all over; rinse with cool water then apply a moisturizer. I did this the first time, but the second and third time I just did a spot treatment.

I can not use it too often for fear my skin would dry out and peel, but an occasional spot treatment is worth it.

I would give this product **** (4) stars for effectiveness, but minus one for safety. I have small kids and worry about them getting ahold of something this potent.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
