Beloved Dust:Book Review

*Wonderfully Messy Mom received this book in exchange for a review

Beloved Dust is written by Jamin Goggin and Kyle Strobel both sharing their thoughts, life experiences and wisdom in who we are, how to approach God and increase your fulfillment in your relationship with God.

The basis for this book is the scripture Genesis 2:7-"Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

Both authors share how we as humans get busy and wrapped up in our own worlds, our own idolatry thus effecting how we approach the Creator God. Creation wants to be creator so we lower God into our image, instead of marveling at us being created in His image.

Prayer is how to reach God, but when we pray disconnected, we are not reaching heaven. They share how prayer should be a place of brokenness, redemption, a place to be raw and real. Prayer should not be used to manipulate God (even though we know that cannot even be done) to get our own way, our wills, our desires.

We are to recognize we are finite, human, weak, temporary (but dust).

Both authors want us to grasp that we are something special, someone important in the kingdom of God. They question asked is, "Who are you?" The answer?? "I am Yours."

Such a beautiful, eye opening book.
