Make Your Own Rose Water

Make It Yourself In Your Own Kitchen
I just happen to be lucky enough to have a florist in my church who had tons of flowers left over after Valentines Day, so she gave me a huge bag full of rose petals. I thought about all the ways I could use them and decided to make my own rose water.
What is rose water used for? Well you can use it as a facial toner, hair rinse, room or linen fragrance, put it in lotions and many more things.
I think I am going to make mine into a facial toner and linen spritz. Rose water is great for shrinking pores and helping acne prone skin, and I love to smell yummy so this would be perfect addition to my natural beauty regimen.
So how do you make rose water?
First step is get your rose petals separated from the stems and loosely place them in your pot.
Then cover with water until just covered.
Then you will place a fireplace brink in the bottom of the pan. Then place your bowl on top of the brick. I did not have one of those things around {no fireplace...boo} so I used a bowl that would float. Put that into the center of your pan instead.
I had to do this two times to get a full {small} mason jar. But all that water that is left in the pot after you boil your petals can also be stored and used!! Waste not, want not!! It is rose water, just not as concentrated.
Don't want to spend the time or energy doing this, just boil the petals at a very low simmer for 30 minutes. That's it, so simple!!
Now go and enjoy your yummy smelling rose water!!
Have you ever made anything like this before, what was your experience with it?
