4 Tips on How to Look After Your New Mommy Body

August 02, 2022

It's been nine months since you've last seen your pre-pregnancy body. You're finally holding your little one in your arms, and all you want to do is give them a good squeeze. But as you take a look in the mirror, all you see staring back at you is an unfamiliar figure - one that has changed dramatically over the past few months. Don't worry, new mommies! You're not alone. Every woman's body goes through changes after giving birth, and it takes time to get back to feeling like your old self again. In this blog post, we will provide four tips on how to look after your new mommy body.

Get Dressed Up

You may not feel like getting dressed up, but trust us, it will do wonders for your mood. Taking the time to put on some makeup and style your hair can make you feel more confident and attractive. Don't have time for a full face of makeup? Just put on a little mascara and lip gloss. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel when you take the time to polish up your appearance. If you don't have time to shower every day, try dry shampoo or baby wipes to freshen up. And remember, yoga pants are always acceptable!

Take Time for Yourself

Now that you have a baby, your time is probably more limited than it was before. But it's important to make time for yourself, even if it's just a few minutes each day. Taking some time for yourself will help you to relax and recharge. Go for a walk, take a hot bath, or read your favorite book. Whatever makes you feel happy and relaxed, make sure to do it regularly. You may not have as much free time as you used to, but that doesn't mean you can't find ways to enjoy yourself. Get creative and find little ways to pamper yourself throughout the day.

Health Checks

It's important to have regular health check-ups, especially if you're a new mom. Check-in with your doctor to make sure you're healing properly from childbirth and to discuss any concerns you may have about your health. You should also schedule regular breast exams and Pap smears. These tests are important for detecting any early signs of cancer. Your teeth and gums also need extra care during pregnancy and after childbirth. Be sure to brush and floss regularly, and see your local dentist for regular check-ups. Don't forget to take care of your mental health as well. If you're feeling anxious or depressed, talk to your doctor about ways to improve your mood.

Get Moving

Your body has been through a lot lately, and it's important to give it time to recover. But that doesn't mean you have to sit on the couch all day. Getting some exercise will help your body to heal and will also improve your mood. Try taking a walk around the block or going for a swim. If you're up for it, you can even join a mommy and me fitness class. Exercise will not only make you feel better, but it will also give you more energy to chase after your little one.
