Warm Oil Manicure Treatment
Simple Hand Softener
I love working out in the garden getting my hands dirty and working the dirt. It makes my heart happy to see things growing and thriving that I planted with my bare hands. I especially love eating the foods that come from the garden! I just wish it didn't take as long for the harvest to become fruitful!
But working in the garden means that I get dry, cracked hands and brittle nails. I hate that! I try really hard to keep my hands and nails looking nice and like I haven't been out playing in the dirt.
Homemade Mary Kay Satin Hands Softener
So my simple solution is make something at home with clean and cheap ingredients that compares to the Mary Kay Satin Hands Softener that I love.
I worked as a Mary Kay consultant for a little while and this homemade remedy can compare to their Satin Hands hand softener. I loved their products as a consultant many moons ago, but they were not clean products. I am not knocking them but I tend to try and stick with the clean products.
For this simple homemade Mary Kay hand softener all you need is this:
1 T. Organic Olive Oil {or coconut oil}
1 drop Lavender Essential Oil
2 plastic sandwich bags that will fit over your hands
warm towel
Yup, that's it!!
In a microwave safe bowl put 1 Tablespoon olive oil for 3-5 seconds {coconut oil until liquid-about 15 seconds}. You want it warm, not hot. Add 1 drop lavender essential oil. Stir.
Rub the oil onto your hands and massage in. Cover your hands with the plastic bags, now place a warm towel over your hands {you can warm the towel in the microwave}.
Sit for 5-10 minutes. Rinse your hands with warm water, massaging the oils away. Gently pat your hands dry and add a great homemade moisturizer like this one!
After consistently using this while working in the garden I have seen so much improvement in the way my hands and nails look. They are no longer brittle and my hands don't crack anymore. I am so in love with this homemade Mary Kay satin hands softener!
